The laboratory develops traceable measurement systems for power measurement in rail and road e-mobility infrastructures and participates in dedicated research projects. Moreover, it provides services for the calibration/characterisation of power/energy measurement chains for on-board DC railway applications up to 4 kV - 2400 A
Other two systems are available: a reference system for characterising and measuring conversion efficiency and charging systems up to 200 kW and a voltage divider for measuring AC, DC or DC + AC voltages up to 1 kV and frequencies between 10 kHz and 200 kHz.
The laboratory also develops analyses on magneto-mechanical devices. It has a 10 kN and 100 Nm dynamic tensile-compression-torsion testing machine that can perform tests with a mechanical excitation frequency of up to 100 Hz.
