Research activities focus on developing strategies to achieve measurement reproducibility using both novel and established analytical techniques, ensuring validation and harmonization of results, and pursuing full metrological traceability. Methodologies based on Raman, IR, NMR, AFM, DLS, INAA, and AF4 spectroscopy, as well as analytical methods for microplastics, nanoplastics, and emerging contaminants, also support participation in international metrological comparisons, many within the SAWG-CCQM and VAMAS frameworks.
The activities also include the development and production of reference materials addressing emerging needs in industry, standardization, and new measurement technologies.
The work further contributes, through participation in EMN Food, to the development of a European strategy for reference materials supporting food safety and sustainability.
