The activity of the laboratory is aimed at the development of new humidity standards to underpin measurement methods for investigations in atmospheric and climatic science, for the reduction of the energy consumption in industrial manufacturing processes and in the applications of energy gases. The new standard generators, multi-gas and multi-pressure, for trace humidity operate in the dew / frost point temperature range between -105 °C and 140 °C and from sub-atmospheric pressure (200 hPa ) up to 0.6 MPa, in air, in gas matrices such as nitrogen and argon, and in hydrogen.
