The laboratory realizes and disseminates the National standards for temperature between -190°C and 962 °C according to the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90). We calibrate standard platinum resistance thermometers (SPRTs), thermocouples and fixed-point cells. We take part into International Comparisons to support more than 40 calibration and measurement capabilities (CMCs). We develop novel ad-hoc solutions to practical temperature measurement problems in a variety of application fields, including temperature control systems (with mK stability), in-situ calibration systems for space applications and thermal measurements for energy efficiency.
