The laboratory realizes and maintains volume of liquids standards ranging from 0.1 µL to 2000 L.
The laboratory performs calibrations of volume standards (measurement of container capacity or dispensed volume) of various types: pipettes, laboratory glassware (pycnometers, pipettes, volumetric flasks, etc.) and metal standards (reference provers, hourglasses for the calibration of gasometric bells, etc.).
Calibration is carried out using the gravimetric method over a measurement range from 0.1 µL to 200 L and using the volumetric method between 100 L and 2000 L. The best relative uncertainty is 0.005%.
Courses are organised for laboratory technicians, metrologists, and quality managers.
Inter-laboratory comparisons for volume standards and pipettes are periodically organized.
