The Tissue Simulator Materials Laboratory is a chemical laboratory dedicated to designing and manufacturing polymeric gel-based artefacts, synthetic or natural, using 3D printing techniques. Through accurate preparation methods and measurements of the different substances and their quantities, it is possible to create artefacts or 'phantoms' that simulate the acoustic, mechanical, electromagnetic and thermal properties of real tissues.
The Drug Delivery Laboratory is dedicated to investigating the activation mechanisms of different "nanocarriers" used in both the diagnostic and therapeutic fields: from monitoring acoustic and optical signals following activation, through ultrasound or magnetic fields, to microfluidics systems capable of simulating the dynamics of drug transport and release in vitro.
