The QR Laboratory is historically the first INRiM laboratory set up and dedicated to micro and nanotechnology, starting in 1995. It consists of four laboratories in particle control, from ISO class 5 to ISO class 7, covering 200 square metres, and Nanofacility Piemonte, a laboratory dedicated to Nanofabrication through ion and electron beams.
The infrastructure is open to national and international collaborations and Piedmontese universities by signing framework agreements and conventions.
Technology services for companies are available.
The QR and Nanofacility Piemonte laboratories are among the few European facilities that use conventional lithographies, such as optical, laser, ion and electron lithography, and nanolithography approaches for self-assembly of nanospheres and block copolymers.
Combining these approaches makes it possible to realise large-area micro- and nanostructures with dimensional continuity from millimetres to 10 nanometres.
