Laboratory of phantoms and materials for biomedical applications
Paragrafo
Immagine
The Laboratory is dedicated to the design, production and characterization of nanocarriers and tissue simulant materials (Phantom) based on polymeric gels, synthetic or natural, also with 3D printing techniques and their applications in the diagnostic and therapeutic fields.
The laboratory is equipped with:
- A chemical hood for the synthesis of nanocarriers and the preparation of polymeric tissue simulators (phantoms)
- An optical bench with automatic triaxial positioning system for measurements using an inverted optical microscope
- A research ultrasound system equipped with a linear probe and a cardiac probe
- Digital oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
- RF amplifiers in the 10 kHz - 3 MHz range for ultrasound probes
- Ultrasound probes (20 kHz - 3 MHz), including focused ones, and PCD acoustic sensors, including MRI compatible
- Spectroscopic analysis system with monochromator and liquid nitrogen-cooled CCD
- Centrifuge
- Dynamic light scattering for nanocarrier characterization
- Chemical cabinets
- 3D bioprinting printer
- NMR relaxometer for analyzing phantom relaxation times
- Open-ended coaxial probe for phantom dielectric property measurements
