High-performance computing (HPC) laboratory for computationally intensive electromagnetic modelling and data analysis.
A high-performance computing (HPC) laboratory is available for all research applications of the Sector requiring computationally intensive modelling and data analysis. The laboratory is provided with a Windows HPC cluster, which includes nine hybrid CPU-GPU computational nodes. In addition, the cluster is equipped with NVIDIA cards for parallel computing (Tesla K20-K80 and Ampere A100) and storage systems for large amounts of data.
The laboratory is provided with commercial modelling software (Sim4Life, CST Microwave Studio, Opera3D) and proprietary software for specific applications devoted to electromagnetic dosimetry, tissue electrical property tomography and the design of RF coils for MRI applications.
