ConTeMi project (Strengthening Third Mission) is an INRiM initiative funded by the European Union - NextGenerationEU within the framework of the Call for proposals UTT 2023-2025 published by the UIBM (Italian Office of Patent and Trademarks) of the MIMIT (the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy). The main goal of the project is the structural strengthening of the Institute Technology Transfer Office, in order to boost the exploitation of the institutional intellectual property and transfer scientific expertise and research results to the society and industrial world.
The main actions envisaged concern both the exploitation of scientific research results, with a focus on those with industrial and commercial potential, and the support of researchers at all stages of the patenting and transfer process. The targets include scouting activities, internal training, management and promotion of the patent portfolio, interaction with companies and local commercial networks, and drafting of regulations on intellectual property and spin-offs.
ConTeMi integrates with projects already financed by regional funds (POR FESR Piemonte), by the NextGenerationEU - PNRR (e.g. iENTRANCE@ENL, Metrofood-RI) and by European programmes such as EMPIR/EPM (EURAMET) and Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe (European Commission), by developping INRiM's role in strategic areas: environment, energy, health, space and quantum technologies.
ConTeMi represents a fundamental step towards a sustainable and systemic technology transfer at INRiM, contributing to the development of the Institute's Third Mission.
