The main objectives of this activity include the creation of innovative platforms for the analysis of molecules with covalent interactions (project: Intramolecular DNA Structural studies), the implementation of capacitive microsensors for chemical detection, recyclable polymer-based hydrogels designed as adsorbents for the capture of gold ions from industrial wastewater, the development of gas sensors based on plasmonic microstructures integrated with porous materials for the capture of CH4 and CO2 (project: NextGen MetPlaSM "Methane Plasmonic Sensing and Metrology"), and multilayer optical filters for compact spectrometers and hyperspectral cameras.
The projects integrate interdisciplinary approaches with advanced characterization techniques (laser vibrometry, spectroscopy, and imaging).
