Pressure Laboratory
Paragrafo
The INRIM pressure laboratory realises and maintains the pressure scale in a range covering more than nine orders of magnitude as it extends from the medium vacuum (0.1 Pa) to high pressures (5 108 Pa).
There are about ten primary standards for the realisation of the scale, and they are based on different physical laws depending on the pressure range.
To disseminate the pressure scale, the laboratory carries out calibrations of secondary samples and transducers, including:
- Pressure scales: determination by comparison with primary standards of the area of the piston-cylinder assembly;
- Pressure transducers in absolute, relative and differential conditions;
- Vacuum meters.
