Measurements for the electrical system

From the energy transition perspective, controlling and monitoring the electrical grid's energy transmission and distribution require accurate and traceable measurements of electrical quantities under all operating conditions. To this end, the sector develops reference systems for generating and measuring grid voltages and currents at rated amplitude. These systems reproduce in laboratory distorted, abnormal and disturbed voltage and current conditions for the sensor characterisation and calibration.
This activity is complemented by studying magnetostrictive 'harvesters' behaviour for powering sensor networks in environments where significant and continuous vibrations are encountered.
