In response to scientific, technological, and social challenges in the environment and energy research field, the "applied thermodynamics" sector actively develops techniques, methodologies, devices and instruments to guarantee metrological traceability and evaluate and reduce calibration and measurement uncertainties. The aim is to reach a better, more complete, and more accurate knowledge of the key measurements for a deeper understanding of thermal, chemical and radiative phenomena characteristic of Earth's environment and productive activities.
