Ultrastable lasers are a key tool for several quantum technologies, among which is the realization of advanced optical clocks and atomic sensors. The NEXTLASERS project investigates novel techniques to improve ultrastable lasers and make them available to the wavelength region of interest for optical clocks. With two optical frequency combs, INRIM participates to the latter activity, to support the operation and advancement of the Yb and Sr optical clocks.
