Nanometrologia

Development and validation of methods for the identification and quantification of micro- and nanoplastics in environmental and food matrices (e.g., water, sugar, milk) using vibrational spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.

Application and optimization of correlative (e.g., AFM-Raman) and hyphenated (e.g., AF4-DLS-Raman) methods, including integration in microfluidic devices, for the physicochemical, morphological and dimensional analysis of micro/nanomaterials in complex matrices.

Design, through wet chemistry and advanced fabrication techniques, of micro/nanostructured substrates and nanoscale reference materials (e.g., metallic colloids, graphene) supporting high-sensitivity techniques (e.g., SERS, TERS) for trace contaminant detection and surface characterization.

Investigation of interactions between micro/nanomaterials and biological systems (e.g., cells, bacteria) to assess internalization, biocidal activity and protein corona formation.
