PiQuET cleanroom interna

INRiM plays a central role in the management of PiQuET, defining its strategic direction and technological needs while overseeing daily operations. Over the next three years, the infrastructure will further consolidate its equipment portfolio, completing the deposition and optical lithography areas and strengthening characterisation capabilities with state-of-the-art instrumentation. The aim is to support new metrological research lines and innovative industrial processes, contributing to the growth of the quantum ecosystem.

PiQuET features a 600 m² cleanroom (ISO 14644-1) with ISO5, ISO6 and ISO7 areas and more than 40 major instruments, representing an investment of approximately €20 million. It supports quantum electronics, time and frequency metrology, and the development of novel metrological sensors, fabricating qubits, parametric amplifiers, miniaturised atomic references, optical resonators, and MEMS-based devices.
