This facility establishes the response of a detector across a range of wavelengths, from UV to NIR.
The spectral responsivity facility disseminates the response of a trap transfer standard detector with known spectral behaviour towards customer detectors. Trap detectors provide the absolute link to the primary standard.
This facility uses a double subtractive monochromator to select a narrow band of few nanometres, from the continuum between 300 nm and 1,6 µm. Monochromator, with sources (tungsten lamp or plasma source), coupling optics, translation stages and electronics are contained in a light tight box.
LASER POWER METERS
Calibration of laser power meter is performed at the wavelength of 633 nm, using He-Ne power-stabilised laser source, against a trap transfer detector at typical power of 100 μW.
FIBRE OPTIC POWER METERS
The calibration of fibre optic power meters is performed at the wavelength of 852 nm, at a power level of 100 µW.
Calibrations are carried out by direct comparison against a suitable transfer detector suitable for use with optical fibre and traceable to trap transfer detectors.
Power meters fitted with FC/PC-type connectors can be calibrated with single mode or multimode fibre. The calibration can be extended to other power levels in the range from 1 mW to 10 µW.
