EURAMET is the Regional Metrology Organisation (RMO) of Europe. It coordinates the cooperation of European metrology institutes in research, traceability of measurements to the SI units, and international recognition of national measurement standards and related Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMC).

It is responsible for the European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research (EMPIR) and the  European Partnership on Metrology (EPM). 

The Italian Magnetism Association (AIMagn) aims to support, promote and enhance the Italian studies on magnetism, a rapidly growing sector in both basic and applied research, such as new technologies for biomedicine and magnetoelectronics.

AIMagn organises its national congress every two years.

Magnet 2009 was held in Rome and paved the way for the foundation of AIMagn, which was created in Turin in 2011.
